Il conflitto raggiunge il suo culmine durante una scena ispirata ad un reale fatto di cronaca, la violenta aggressione da parte di un gruppo ultranazionalista e omofobo durante la proiezione di un film queer in un cinema di Bucarest, nel 2013.
